Privacy Policy

Table ("Table," "we," "us") is a free service provided by Bridge Church for planning invitations, RSVPs, potlucks and meal trains at rsvp.thebridgepb.org. This policy explains what information Table collects, how it is used, who can see it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you create an account
Your name, email address, an optional phone number, and a password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot see them.
When you RSVP or sign up
You do not need an account to reply to an invitation. When you do, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, an optional phone number, your answer (yes, maybe or no), how many adults and children are coming, the dish or meal you plan to bring, any note you leave for the host, and your answer to any question the host asks.
When you host an event
We store the details you enter, such as the event name, description, date, time, location, address and any picture you upload. For a meal train, hosts may also enter information about the people receiving meals, such as their name, phone number, email, household size, food allergies, food preferences and delivery instructions. Hosts should only share this information with the permission of the people it is about.
Information collected automatically
- Cookies: Table uses one cookie to keep you logged in and to remember, on your device, which sign-ups you made so you can change them. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Server logs: Like most websites, our web host automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure.
- We do not use analytics services, and we do not show ads.
How we use information
- To run events: showing hosts who is coming and what they are bringing, and keeping dish and meal sign-ups from overlapping.
- To send emails related to events you take part in, such as confirmations, reminders, updates from the host, notices to hosts about new sign-ups, and invitations a host chooses to send.
- To provide account features, such as password resets.
- To keep Table safe and working properly.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for advertising or add you to mailing lists.
Who can see your information
- Hosts and co-hosts of an event can see the names, email addresses, phone numbers, answers and notes of everyone who signs up for it.
- Other guests may see your name and the dish or meal you are bringing, if the host chooses to show names. Your email address and phone number are never shown to other guests.
- Addresses: a host can choose to show an event's address only to people who have signed up.
- Church administrators can see all events and accounts on Table in order to provide support and keep the service safe.
- Who can open an event page: official church events may be listed publicly on Table. Events created by members for their own gatherings are not listed. They can only be opened by someone who has the link, so anyone the link is shared with can see the event page.
- We may share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of a person.
Services we rely on
Some parts of Table use outside services. When you use those features, they receive limited information, as described in their own privacy policies:
- Web hosting: Table's information is stored on servers provided by our hosting company.
- Email: Table sends email through Bridge Church's own email account. The services that deliver email to your inbox will also process it.
- Google Fonts: the lettering on Table pages is loaded from Google, which receives your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps: event pages that show an address include a Google map, and the "Get Directions" button opens Google Maps.
- Address suggestions: when a host types an address into the event form, the typed text is sent to Photon, a service run by komoot that uses OpenStreetMap data, to suggest matching addresses. See komoot's privacy policy.
How long we keep information
We keep event and sign-up information until it is deleted. Hosts can delete their events at any time, which removes every sign-up for that event. Guests can cancel their own sign-ups using the link in their confirmation email. Pictures are removed when they are replaced or the event is deleted. Copies may remain in our backups for a limited time before they are overwritten.
Your choices
- You can change or cancel an RSVP or sign-up at any time from the link in your confirmation email. Cancelling also stops reminder emails for it.
- You can update your account details on the "My account" page.
- To delete your account, or to ask what information we have about you, email us at rsvp@thebridgepb.org.
Children
Table is meant for adults planning and joining events. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Hosts and guests may enter how many children are attending, but not children's names or contact details. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Table uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, stores passwords in hashed form, and limits who can see contact details. No website can be perfectly secure, so please don't include sensitive information that isn't needed for an event.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
